Neuropeptide W-23 (human) is an endogenous ligand of the G-protein-coupled receptors GPR7 and GPR8. It dose-dependently inhibited cAMP accumulation induced by forskolin in CHO-GPR7 and CHO-GPR8 cells, with IC?? values of 0.025 and 0.178 nM, respectively. Intracerebroventricular administration of neuropeptide W-23 (human) in rats increased food intake and stimulated prolactin release.
