根据NCCLS推荐的分界点值标准，判断耐药（resistant, R）、敏感(susceptible, S)或中介（intermediate, I）。S表示被测菌株所引起的感染可以用该抗菌药物的常用剂量治疗有效，禁忌症除外。R指该菌不能被抗菌药物的常用剂量在组织液内或血液中所达到的浓度所抑制，或属于具有特定耐药机理（如β-内酰胺酶），所以临床治疗效果不佳。I是指MIC接近药物的血液或组织液浓度，疗效低于敏感菌?；贡硎颈徊饩昕梢酝ü岣呒亮浚ㄈ?beta;-内酰胺类药物）被抑制，或在药物生理性浓集的部位（如尿液）被抑制。另外，中介还作为“缓冲域”，以防止由微小的技术因素失控，所导致较大的错误解释。
